Ezequiel was born in Arrecife (Lanzarote) and began his music studies on his home island at the age of 8, specializing in saxophone. At the age of 16, he moved to Tenerife to continue his music studies at the Professional Conservatory of Music of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and later at the Higher Conservatory of Music of the Canary Islands.

While studying saxophone and participating in numerous courses with saxophonists from Europe, he became passionate about choral conducting and gospel music, expanding his studies in this musical area with vocal directors. At the same time he began studying choral direction, he also started directing his first choir at age 18, the United Choir of Tenerife.

He has learned with directors, musicians and producers from different countries and cities, both in modern music for his instrument, the saxophone, and in modern singing and specializing in gospel. As there is no specific school of gospel music, look for private and independent professionals of the genre and from different places.

After directing the United Choir of Tenerife, Gospel Shine Voices, Gospel Shine Voices Kids and Añaza Gospel Kids, among others, he decided to create the Gospel School of the Canary Islands, aimed at training and disseminating gospel music. At the same time, he forms Naturally, a professional group specialized in delving into the different textures presented by the harmonies of gospel, soul, r&b, etc.

Currently, with more than 20 years of experience directing and on stage, Ezequiel Barrios is the president of the Asociación Escuela Gospel de Canarias, musical director of the Canarias Gospel Choir and Sevilla Gospel Choir, musical producer of Naturally, artistic director of the gospel summit, Canarias Gospel Summit and the Black Sound Costa Adeje festival. He teaches training workshops for different points and choirs on the national scene, educational centers, music schools and makes productions for different musical groups.
