Eirik Kaasa (1975) is a Nordic musician and singer who has worked for NRK Supers’ program “Lillepri”. As head of studies at the Norwegian National Television School, he has contributed to the development of some of the best talent in the Norwegian television industry.
He is the director of one of Norway’s leading gospel groups and a songwriter with original and innovative arrangements that follow the current gospel music trends in the United States. He has collaborated with great gospel eminences such as Kirk Franklin.
Safari Choir is a gospel/soul group born in Oslo, Norway, in 1997. The group is composed of twelve excellent singers/soloists, many of whom work full time on music.
Safari Choir’s musical style ranges from contemporary gospel, R&B and soul to traditional gospel as well as beautiful and moving ballads. Most of Safari Choir’s repertoire consists of self-composed material, mostly written by its founder and musical director, Eirik Kaasa.
During its almost 25 years, Safari Choir has performed on many stages and events in Norway and abroad. Perfoming at several large gospel and jazz festivals. and also touring with gospel artists such as Kirk Franklin and Myron Butler.
They can often be seen on popular TV shows such as “Dancing with the stars”, “The Voice”, “Idol” etc. Safari Choir has released two albums (“Thank You” 2009 and “I Still Need You” 2015) with a third album is on its way.
Safari Choir has visited the legendary Billboard chart as a guest choir with American gospel artist Isaac Carree.
